Near the notary’s official signature on the notarial certificate of a paper document, the notary shall affix a sharp, legible, permanent and photographically reproducible image of the official seal. The seal must include the following: name of the notary exactly as on commission; the phrases “Notary Public” and “Commonwealth of Virginia”; notary registration number; and the phrase “My commission expires [date of expiration].” Source: Va.
